Band Classes
Katie Greenwood
"Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, you learn notes to play to the music of your soul."
Our Band Classes are an exciting musical journey designed to elevate your musicianship and performance abilities.
These 12-week classes bring together small groups of 2 drummers, 2 bassists, 3 guitarists, 2 keyboardists, and 2 vocalists to create a diverse ensemble that fosters collaboration and creativity.
Each class learns up to nine stylistically diverse songs selected to stretch and challenge their musical abilities. Songs can include anything from Rock to Pop, Funk to Blues, and Jazz to Country.
Across all three levels, participants are expected to learn each song as well as possible before class. This allows us to dive straight into playing, focusing on the unique challenges each week presents, and maximizing our time together.
The Band Classes are organised into three skill levels—foundational, intermediate, and advanced. Before placement, we meet with each participant for a brief assessment to determine the most suitable class for their current ability.
Once assessed and offered a spot, a £100 non-refundable deposit (Inc VAT) is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance of £224 (Inc VAT) due 10 days before the first class. If the balance isn’t paid by then, the deposit may be forfeited, and your place released to someone else.
Each term culminates in an end-of-term gig, where participants get to showcase their progress in a live performance. This celebration is not only a rewarding experience but also a moment to honour the dedication and effort put in by you and your fellow musicians.
Before enrolling, please check your schedule to confirm that you can attend at least 80% to 90% of the sessions. Your commitment is essential to both the group’s success and the overall flow of the class. Partial attendance isn’t possible, as each spot is vital to the experience and the viability of our small, dedicated classes.
Spring 2025 Schedule
Below is the upcoming term’s class schedule, including the songs and their keys. If you’re interested in a certain class level, we recommend listening to the corresponding Spotify playlist—it’s a great way to get a feel for the class’s difficulty and musical focus.
Each class also has room for "own choice" songs later in the term, allowing you and your bandmates to bring your unique tastes and ideas to the lineup. As you progress from one level to the next, you’ll notice an increase not only in the intensity and complexity of the songs but also in the number of pieces you’ll tackle each term!
