Piano & Keyboard Lessons
Jarod Kintz
“What has keys but can’t listen to the beauty it unlocks?
A piano.”
Piano & Keyboard Lessons in Woking.
In our piano and keyboard lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of playing the instrument, including hand positioning, posture, and finger technique.
Additionally, the teacher will guide you through the process of understanding music theory, which is crucial to developing your skills as a pianist or keyboardist.
Understanding different musical styles and how different keyboard instruments suit different styles of music is also an essential component of piano or keyboard lessons.
Whether you're interested in classical music, jazz, rock, or pop, your instructor will help you identify the nuances of each style and how to adapt your playing accordingly.
With this knowledge, you will be able to explore various keyboard instruments, learning how to incorporate them into your playing for a well-rounded musical experience, and have the tools necessary to continue improving your playing outside of the lessons at our Weekly Jam Nights!

What will you learn?
Hand Position
Greatly affects the quality of a pianist. Creating more fluid and efficient movement across the keyboard, reducing the risk of injury, and helping the pianist to produce a consistent and even sound.
Finger Dexterity
Play complex and challenging pieces with ease and precision. Good dexterity allows a pianist to play fast and intricate passages, and to execute difficult techniques such as trills, tremolos, and glissandos.
Musical Notation
The universal language for communicating musical ideas and compositions. It allows pianists to read and interpret sheet music, which contains important information about the melody, harmony, and rhythm.
Knowledge of Music Theory
A deeper understanding of the structure and composition of music. Knowledge of chords and scales is essential for improvisation and effectively communicating with other musicians.
Different Keyboard Instruments
Knowing the capabilities and limitations of each instrument helps a musician to make informed decisions and to create the best possible sound for their music and the band.
Ear Training
The ability to recognize and reproduce different musical sounds, such as intervals, chords, melodies, and rhythms. This skill can improve a musician's ability to play by ear, improvise, and compose music.
